Everyone can cook or at least tried cooking in their live including me but trust me 21 years of my existence i never did pastry at all. Luckily in my second semester i had the chance to learn pastry and surprisingly, i love it. Pastry had taught me to be discipline because you have to be sharp and accurate. It is different with hot kitchen because in hot kitchen, you are more free to add ingredients and the measurements of the ingredients is all subjective because it is more to personal preference.
In Pastry, you have to scale the ingredients at the exact amount not more nor less because too much yeast will make your dough to something else. This is what i meant by it taught me to be discipline and aware to my surroundings.

My real love in the kitchen would be hot kitchen. I am in love with the heat and the intensity that hot kitchen offer. But everything must be organise so that everything will run smoothly during sitting. Nothing felt more satisfying after a tiring day you have no problem in the kitchen and all the guest compliment your food.
